Caterpillar original Diesel Engine Fuel Injector, Common Rail 147-0373 194-5080 10R-0960 212-3462 10R-0967 20R-0055 153-7923 for CAT C12 C10 Excavator new original new injector

The 317-5278 diesel fuel injector is engineered as a direct replacement for Caterpillar C10, C12, C13, 3176C, and 3196 diesel engines commonly found in CAT 14H, 140H, 160H, 163H motor graders, 966G II wheel loaders, 815F and 816F compactors, 572R II pipelayers, and D7R II dozers. It cross-references to CA3175278, 20R-0055, 10R-1264, and 23670-E0510, allowing distributors and service shops to consolidate SKU coverage for multiple engine platforms. Fitment should always be confirmed by engine serial number and emission configuration before installation.

Built to original-type specifications, this injector delivers precision fuel metering and controlled atomization through a heavy-duty solenoid and nozzle assembly. Reliable sealing at the nozzle tip and injector body helps maintain correct injection pressure and supports clean combustion under high-load conditions. Each unit is replacement-ready once the part number is verified, making it suitable for fleet maintenance programs, engine rebuild operations, and global parts distribution channels serving the construction and earthmoving equipment markets.

During installation, use clean diesel fuel, replace all O-rings, seals, washers, and single-use hardware, and avoid touching the nozzle or sealing surfaces. Symptoms such as hard starting, rough idle, black or white smoke, high fuel consumption, low power, misfire, or diesel knock often point to injector-related issues. Recommended checks include fuel pressure testing, injector balance testing, cylinder cutout testing, leak-off testing, diagnostic scanning, and visual inspection of seals and fuel contamination.
